Weld Re-1 Early Childhood Program Enrollment
Returning PK Students, Siblings in Elementary, Middle, High School, or a Parent who is Employed in the Preschool/Elementary School
Step 1
- Colorado families can start applying for the state’s free preschool program for the 2024-25 school year on Feb. 29 for children currently enrolled in a Weld RE-1 preschool, want to attend where a PK - 5 sibling attends, or the parent is employed in the preschool elementary school.
- These above families will get an email from the State of Colorado Department of Early Childhood that links to a universal preschool application preloaded with their current preschool. Once the family accepts the placement, the match will be confirmed immediately.

New Families to a Weld RE-1 Preschool
Step 1:
- Visit upk.colorado.gov to apply for free preschool.
- Weld RE-1 accepts all 4-year-olds and provides free preschool.
- Weld RE-1 only has 14 free preschool general education enrollment slots for 3-year olds. In District Only
- Note: all 3 and 4-year-olds for a qualifying Individualized Education Plan are provided free preschool. In District Only
- The Early Childhood Department at the State of Colorado will not announce matches until April 2024. This is a long window to wait, so please go to Step 2 so we can get students on our preschool enrollment class lists
- Weld Re-1 does offer tuition-based preschool if you do not qualify for a free preschool enrollment slot. The fee is $20 per day, per session. Families must register for the 4-day a week year-long program.
- Please complete this form until Weld RE-1 Infinite Campus registration portal opens up in spring.
